Our mission hasn't changed since our beginning in 1932. Back then, the Great Depression and rough economic times led to a great need for a place where the average family could save and borrow money.

Today, it is our job to help you and your family achieve a greater degree of economic independence. We exist only to serve our member-owners. Wright-Patt is an organization of people...people here to serve you and your family through life in a truly different way.

Our Humble Beginnings
It all began in the early 1930s, amidst the economic depression. Times were hard, and the need for an "every person" financial institution became a necessity.

Members of the F.E.U. Local 148, federal employees working at Wright Field, found an answer to that need: the F.E.U 148 Credit Union, Inc., which was chartered on June 10, 1932. The credit union was the fifth in the state, and one of the earliest in the nation. As our country moved into the active years of World War II, the credit union continued growing and adding eligible groups to its membership.

Our name changed in 1948 to Wright Field Credit Union; in 1951 to Dayton Federal Employees Credit Union; and in 1962 to Wright-Patt Credit Union. Over the past 75 years, Wright-Patt Credit Union has grown to serve more than 1,100 employee groups, as well as individuals in seven counties in the Miami Valley and many communities in Cincinnati, Ohio. With 22 member centers and over $1.6 billion in assets, Wright-Patt now proudly serves over 180,000 member-owners.
